GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Admission requirements vary in different schools, but here are some basic requirements: Generally, documentation varies from country to country and to courses applied for, whether undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral degree. However, a basic idea of what is expected is listed below:
- A completed application form –often online (Standard requirement for all institutions)
- An official high school transcript (Standard requirement)
- Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended if any (Standard Requirement)
- Degree Certificate (certified true copy if applicable)
- A detailed Resume to show educational achievements, work experience and progression, community involvement, volunteer experience, and other related experience (Standard requirement)
- A Letter of Intent (LOI), Personal statement that clearly explains why the applicant is applying and outlines the student’s academic goals, reasons for selecting that institution and student’s background and how it relates to the Institution. (Standard requirement)
- A credential evaluation from a recognized service confirming equivalency if applicable or if additional analysis is required by the Admissions Committee; and in cases where transcripts are in a language other than English, the Applicant must provide a certified English translation from a certified translator on official letterhead.
- Reference letters
- Proof of English language proficiency (if applicable); WAEC {English Language C- Credit} {Test of English as a foreign Language} TOEFL IBT >90-100 score & {International English Language Testing System} IELTS: 7.5 score & other English language tests (if applicable & oftentimes unique to the institution and country of study)
- GRE if applicable
- Research proposal {Highly specific to the proposed research topic or course}
- Other specific requirements exclusive to the course of study, location and entry level
It is highly recommended for International students to begin the application process a year in advance. Students are required to observe the regulations of the Country as well as the University regulations.
